Nathaniel Merryweather presents… Lovage “Music to make love to your old lady by” foi lançado em 2001 e, na altura, era vendido pelo simples facto de ser produzido e orquestrado por “Dan the Automator”, um dos génios por detrás do primeiro grupo de música virtual do mundo, os “Gorillaz”. Mas acontece que o álbum é algo mais.

É um daqueles álbuns conceptuais que não se perde em diatribes psicadélicas e fantasmagóricas onde o delírio ganha à simples melodia. É um álbum de canções com cabeça, tronco e membros, não perdendo a noção do clássico e dando um passo em frente pela simples introdução de humor e de pequenos desvios exequíveis por aqueles que conseguem, por segundos, fechar os olhos ao mundo para, com calma, voltar a abri-los vendo tudo com cores diferentes, não melhores, nem piores, apenas diferentes.
